When an incision is made on the abdomen, there is always a chance of it leading to weakness
in the muscles. When the muscles fail to heal properly, it could result in a gap opening in
the area. A weakness in the abdominal muscles causes the tissues of the abdomen to project
outside the area and cause an incisional hernia. Gynecologic surgeries may sometimes result
in weakening of the abdominal wall too especially in the lower abdomen.
